When is testing for HIV useful?

  • when you have taken drugs with used needles.
  • when you (by accident)are picked with a infected needle;
  • when you had surgery in a country where HIV is very common;
  • when you’re mother was infected with HIV during your birth;
  • when you were breast fed by a infected person;
  • when you were administered donor blood that was not screened for HIV
