What is ovulation?

The ovulation is the release of the mature egg from the ovary into the fallopian tubes, that will lead it to the uterus. This process takes place in the female body once every menstrual cycle. In order to develop into an embryo, the egg has to be fertilized within 24-36 hours after ovulation.
