In the instructions for use it says that I should hold the test in my urine stream for at least 10 seconds. Is the test invalid when it is shorter or longer than 10 seconds?

As long as a red line appears in the test window, the test is valid. This usually is also the case when it is a little bit shorter or longer. If you want to be sure, you can also dip the absorbent tip in your urine for at least 10 seconds. You can not use the test more than once.
